Fibromyalgia and Chronic Pain Management

Fibromyalgia involves ongoing pain across wide areas of the body, fatigue, disturbed sleep and problems with concentration. The intensity of the pain is not proportional to tissue damage; what has changed is the way the nervous system processes pain. That is why passive treatments alone fall short. Fzt. Kemran Hafız follows what current guidelines place first: graded exercise, pain education and daily routine handled together.

Fibromyalgia in Bursa Nilüfer

Fzt. Kemran Hafız provides one-to-one care for fibromyalgia at the clinic in Bursa Nilüfer — in Fethiye Mahallesi, on Kelebek Sokak, at a central point of Nilüfer, opposite the Fethiye covered market.

It is a short trip by car or public transport from İhsaniye, Odunluk, Balat, Özlüce, Ataevler, 23 Nisan and the surrounding areas. Every session is one-to-one, assessment-based and tailored to you.

Why graded exercise?

The most common mistake in fibromyalgia is doing a great deal on good days and nothing on bad ones. That boom-and-bust pattern feeds the pain. The core principle is to move by a pre-set, measured dose rather than by how you feel that day.

The starting dose is deliberately low. The aim is not to push hard quickly but to raise safely, over weeks, the load your body can carry. This is where the strongest evidence lies in international guidelines.

Understanding pain is part of the treatment

Learning that pain does not always mean tissue damage makes a measurable difference. Knowing that movement is not harmful reduces avoidance and makes returning to daily life easier.

Goals are set together and kept realistic: first regaining one function in daily life, then widening capacity.

Frequently asked questions

Does fibromyalgia go away?

Fibromyalgia is an ongoing condition, but pain intensity, fatigue and daily capacity can improve markedly with the right programme. The goal is for symptoms to stop dictating your life.

Won't exercise increase my pain?

Not when the dose is right. The programme deliberately starts at low intensity and progresses in measured weekly steps, with your response reviewed each session.

Does it replace medication?

No. Physiotherapy complements the treatment your doctor is running. Decisions about medication belong to your doctor.

Does Exercise Make Fibromyalgia Pain Worse?

This is the question we are asked most. The short answer: at the right dose it reduces pain rather than increasing it. The long answer lies in how that dose is set.
