Kinesio Taping

Kinesio taping supports muscles and joints with elastic tape applied to the skin. Its purpose is not to restrict movement but to give the area feedback that makes movement more comfortable. Fzt. Kemran Hafız uses taping as a supportive application: the tape on its own is not a treatment, but a tool that completes the exercise programme.

Tape doesn't replace lost feedback — it reminds you of it

Shoulder subluxation and foot drop are commonly seen conditions after a stroke. In these cases, the person has trouble sensing where the limb is; movement breaks down the moment it's out of sight.

Fzt. Kemran Hafız uses taping to support this feedback. The tape doesn't do the muscle's job — it reminds the person of the arm's or foot's position and makes repeating the correct movement easier. It's a temporary aid: the real gain is control that holds up once the tape comes off.

Why is taping used for shoulder subluxation?

It makes repeating the correct movement easier by reminding the person of the joint's position; it doesn't take over the muscle's function.

How often is it changed?

How long and how often it's used is set based on the person and condition; the programme reviews this regularly.
